Our objective was to completely redesign their cloud-native infrastructure to ensure cost-efficiency while maintaining data security, near-native web speeds, and overall system performance.

Detailed Project Tasks and Execution
At Associative, we operate with a deeply client-centric approach. We divided the project into clear, manageable tasks to ensure strict honesty and open communication at every step.
1. Complete System Audit and Cost Analysis The first task was to identify the root cause of the high cloud bills. Our Platform Engineering team analyzed the existing GCP usage, identifying heavy database queries, unused instances, and data pipelines that were running 24/7 without need.
2. Infrastructure Automation with Terraform To fix manual provisioning errors, we wrote custom Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. This allowed the client to create, modify, and destroy cloud resources automatically, ensuring they only paid for what they actually used.
3. Backend Refactoring and Optimization Our back-end ecosystem experts rewrote the heavy data processing scripts. By leveraging Python and Node.js, we optimized the data flow to process in batches rather than keeping the server running continuously. We also optimized their PostgreSQL database queries to reduce processing time and cache memory load on Redis.
4. Containerization using Docker and Kubernetes We packaged all the data pipeline applications into Docker containers. After that, we used Kubernetes orchestration to set up auto-scaling. This ensured that extra GCP servers would only turn on during heavy data loads and would automatically shut down when the work was done.
5. Setting up Advanced DevOps & DevSecOps To guarantee smooth deployments in the future, we set up highly automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions. We also implemented Zero Trust Architectures to ensure that the newly optimized data pipelines were highly secure and regulatory compliant.
6. Rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) and Testing In the final month, our QA department conducted extensive testing to guarantee bug-free delivery. We used automated testing pipelines to ensure that the new, cost-effective infrastructure did not result in any data loss or delays.
