The Challenge

The client’s existing application was struggling to handle a growing number of users. The old backend was tightly coupled, resulting in slow loading times, frequent server crashes during peak hours, and high server maintenance costs. They needed an expert team to cleanly rewrite and optimize the backend without disturbing the live user experience.

Detailed Project Tasks

To engineer market leadership for our client, we broke down the complex digital transformation into the following clear tasks:

1. System Audit and Architecture Planning:

   • Deeply analyzed the existing old code and database queries.

   • Designed a new, scalable cloud-native infrastructure plan using AWS.

2. Database Optimization and Migration:

   • Refactored the database structure in PostgreSQL to remove duplicate data.

   • Added Redis for cache memory to make data fetching ultra-fast and reduce the load on the main database.

3. API Refactoring and Development:

   • Rewrote the heavy server-side logic using modern Node.js and FastAPI frameworks.

   • Created secure, fast, and lightweight RESTful APIs for the frontend team to connect easily.

4. Cloud Optimization and DevOps Setup:

   • Moved the newly refactored application to Managed AWS.

   • Set up Docker containers and Kubernetes to ensure the application automatically scales up when user traffic increases.

   • Created a highly automated CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins to ensure future updates are deployed smoothly without downtime.

5. Rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) & Testing:

   • Our QA department strictly tested the new backend using automated testing pipelines (Selenium and Cypress).

   • Conducted heavy load testing to guarantee the system remains bug-free and stable under pressure.

The Final Result

The project was delivered on time with strict honesty and daily open communication. The newly refactored backend now easily handles three times the original traffic with near-zero downtime. The client’s monthly cloud server costs were also heavily reduced due to our platform engineering and cloud optimization strategies.
