We are very happy to announce that we have successfully completed and delivered a major Cloud Cost Optimization (FinOps) project for a growing enterprise client. As businesses grow, their cloud infrastructure bills often go out of control. Using our expertise in Platform Engineering and Cloud Optimization, we helped the client safely navigate the digital landscape and bring their managed cloud costs down without losing any system performance.

Project Details

The client was facing challenges with unmanaged and rapidly increasing monthly bills on their cloud platforms. They needed a strict, transparent, and highly technical audit of their entire cloud setup. At Associative, our core foundation is built on open communication and strict honesty, which made us the perfect technology partner for this task.

We deeply analyzed their existing Cloud-Native Infrastructure. Our engineering team did not just cut costs blindly; instead, we re-engineered their architecture to be scalable, secure, and future-proof, perfectly balancing cost and performance.

Key Tasks Completed

During the project lifecycle, our team successfully delivered the following tasks:

• Complete Cloud Audit: We thoroughly checked their entire Managed Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Managed Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments to find wasted and unused resources.

• Resource Right-Sizing: We adjusted the sizes of their active servers and databases to match their actual daily usage, cutting down unnecessary extra capacity.

• Infrastructure Automation: We wrote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automatically start up and shut down testing environments when not in use.

• Container Optimization: We heavily optimized their Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration, packing applications more efficiently to save server space.

• CI/CD Pipeline Updates: We upgraded their automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure that new code deployments do not accidentally create expensive, unneeded cloud resources.

• FinOps Dashboard Setup: We created a real-time billing and monitoring dashboard so the client can easily track their daily cloud spending.

• Total Time for Development & Testing: 4 Months (3 months of infrastructure engineering and optimization, followed by 1 month of strict monitoring and Quality Assurance testing).

• Team Size: 5 Highly Skilled IT Professionals (1 Lead Cloud Architect, 2 DevOps Engineers, 1 QA Automation Engineer, and 1 Project Manager).
